For amplifying acoustic violins, there are two major methods: close micing, and piezo pickups. The two devices differ in structure and rationale, hence making different sounds. Generally speaking, the tone of microphones is closer to the original tone of violin; and piezo pickups, on the other hand, produce a stronger, penetrating tone while being able to prevent unwanted feedback. On the VF-10 System, players can easily switch between these two sources. Without any complicated installation, players can achieve any sound they want with their most familiar instruments.
